Details/Description:
Get ready to take your guitar playing to new heights with Metal Method's Complete Rock Guitar Lessons on DVD--Beginner to Advanced Levels. Whether you're just starting out playing rock & metal guitar or your already playing lead guitar in clubs, this complete guitar training system takes you step-by-step into learning essential rock & metal lead and rhythm guitar techniques--including rock/blues/metal styles, scales, modes & guitar theory! It's all here.

It doesn't matter whether you just want to learn to play guitar or become a better guitarist. This course is easy enough for beginners yet challenging for advanced players. These are the guitar lessons that made Doug Marks and Metal Method famous. Pick up any guitar magazine over the last 25 years and you'll see Metal Method, reviews, articles and awards. In fact,  the Complete Guitar Course was chosen by Guitar World Magazine as an "essential guitar DVD" (it's 3 DVDs actually)

"I recently concluded the Halford / Iron Maiden world tour with the Rock-In-Rio festival in front of 250,000 people. Not bad for a kid and his Metal Method Guitar Lessons. Thanks!”
--Mike Chlasciak, guitarist with the band: Halford

This jam-packed course is divided into twenty-four weekly lessons. Each lesson covers guitar technique, guitar theory, equipment pointers and motivation tips. It'll teach you how to set attainable goals and have a lot of fun achieving them. If you're a beginner, you can expect results practicing just one half an hour, five days a week. To get started you don't need to know anything about playing guitar. There's no need for a private instructor. All materials needed to master guitar are right here. By the time you're finished with this course you should be good enough to play in a band. Haven't you waited long enough?

Metal Method's Complete Rock Guitar Lessons utilizes a handy  DVD menu system for easy navigation. You can find and repeat each exercise at the touch of a button. This includes six hours of programming recorded on 3 DVDs and includes six guitar tab booklets.

Here's what you get...

DVD #1: Beginner Guitar Techniques & Concepts

Level 1: (60-minutes w/ tab booklet): This DVD covers how to tune the guitar; bar chords; the pentatonic lead scale; simple lead tricks; and picking exercises. The various guitar parts are described along with their function. The equipment necessary for a great guitar sound is also described.

Level 2 (60-minutes w/ tab booklet) the second beginner lesson of the Complete Guitar Lessons: This covers some basic tricks like hammer-ons, slide, trill, octaves, and bending notes. You'll quickly learn to play leads and chord progressions. Learn to create licks, the building blocks of leads. Play songs and jam along with bass & drum rhythm tracks. There's a chord chart with 32 of the most important chords in rock. Bridge adjustments are explained to make your guitar easier to play. The motivation part of this lesson explains how to play naturally.

-------

DVD #1: Intermediate Guitar Techniques & Concepts

Level 3 (60-minutes w/ tab booklet) an intermediate guitar lesson picks up where Level 2 left off:  This lesson covers vibrato techniques, fretboard tapping, string muting, harmonics and pedal tones. Speed exercises are also taught along with how to compose leads. Chord progressions from blues to metal are covered. These progressions feature bass and drum rhythm tracks for you to play along. Stereo effect processors are also demonstrated and explained. Techniques for copying/transcribing songs and leads from recordings are also covered. There's even information on how to form a band.

Level 4 (60-minutes w/ tab booklet) is an intermediate guitar lesson and picks up where Level 3 left off:  This one starts off with a few tricks like ghost bends, random harmonics, gliss pick, tremolo picking, ostinato, Hendrix style octaves, and infinite sustain. Then, sequences & patterns are covered. Plus, several vibrato bar techniques are explained.

The Theory section introduces the Aeolian mode, chord formulas and diminished licks. The motivation section teaches how to set and attain goals.

----

DVD #3: Advanced Guitar Techniques & Concepts

Level 5 (60-minutes  w/tab booklet): Everything you need to know about theory to be a good player is included in this guitar lesson. People get bogged down trying to learn too much of the technical stuff about playing and lose sight of the music. This is what you need to know and nothing more. If you've been playing a few years, can play well but still don't understand scales, modes and progressions, this lesson was written with you in mind. Level 5 will quickly teach what you've been missing. The chord scales and formulas explain how to match chord progressions to lead modes.

The equipment section deals with guitar truss rod adjustments. If your guitar always sounds out of tune, this may be the intonation adjustment you've been missing.

Level 6 (60-minutes w/tab booklet): If you have an earlier version of the course, which divided the lessons up into Metal Gear, Primer, Progressions, Tricks, Licks and Theory, you'll find that this DVD covers material not taught in the original course. It primarily deals with techniques like sweep & circular picking, Yngwie style six string sweep arpeggios, and three notes to a string speed triplets.

There are also two leads analyzed & taught with bass and drum tracks included. Harmonic, melodic, and diminished minor  scales are covered. The equipment section explains adjusting bridge intonation. The motivation section explains how to impress an audience.
